Earlier in July, the New York City-based Chickpea, a Middle Eastern menu quick service restaurant, opened a unit on the PATH level of the Journal Square Transportation Center on Kennedy Blvd. in Jersey City in New Jersey, according to The Jersey Journal. Featuring a menu of Mediterranean influenced healthy choices such as falafel, shawarma, grilled chicken, lamb turkey kebabs, etc., all made from quality ingredients, it is the tenth location for the seven year old chain. The unit is one of several new stores and restaurants planned for the center that provides services to Lower and Midtown Manhattan, Hoboken and Newark.  Nine other locations are New York City and Long Island City. Owned by restaurateur Mike Himani, the chain of corporate locations is also preparing to open in the Newark Penn Station in Newark.
