In mid-December, Hickory Tavern finished 2015 with its 22nd location opened on Celanese Rd. near India Hook Rd. in Rock Hill, a community in the Charlotte, South Carolina metro area. The 6500 square foot unit on the city’s north side was the 18-year old chain’s fifth opening in 2015. Described as a neighborhood restaurant with sports passion, it may be best known as a runner up in ESPN’s Best Sports Bar in North America. Early in 2016, Hickory Tavern will open in a 7300 square foot former Fuddruckers location at 32 Shelter Cove Lane in Hilton Head in South Carolina. The chain is also reported to be in the planning stages of a 6000 square foot location in the Southpark Village shopping center in Holly Springs in North Carolina. The family-friendly Hickory Tavern combines upscale casual dining with a sports-themed bar atmosphere with about 40 flat screen HD televisions and state of the art sound systems. The menu features a wide selection of American-fare of burgers, sandwiches, tacos, wings & tenders, etc. along with salads, sides, steaks, chicken and seafood dishes with beer, wine and liquor.
