C&P Restaurant Company has signed a six-unit development agreement for Georgia, with premium quick-service chain Fazoli’s. The franchisee plans to open restaurants in Macon, Warner Robins, Athens, Augusta, Columbus and Savannah. A search is underway and the company anticipates opening its first unit by the Summer of 2016. The agreement brings C&P partners Allen Peake and Mike Chumbley back to Fazoli’s. As executives and minority owners of RMS Family Restaurants, they operated twelve Fazoli’s in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. RMS sold its Fazoli’s restaurants in 2000 and the restaurants eventually were closed. “We always knew that we wanted to again be part of Fazoli’s, and now the timing is right,” said Peake. “Fazoli’s did very well in Georgia and we expect to be even more successful this time.” Based in Macon, Georgia, C&P Restaurants is also franchisees of the Captain D’s and Cheddar’s concepts. Fazoli’s is a 27-year old quick service premium Italian restaurant concept serving freshly prepared pasta, pizza, salads and Italian flatbreads. The privately owned franchise chain currently included over 215 locations in about 26 states. The company ended 2014 with record sales and in February, the Fazoli’s franchisees’ comp sales were up 5.5 percent, the chain’s 23rd straight month of same-store sales increases.
