Cava Grill is a fast-casual Greek/Mediterranean restaurant chain in the DC-area that is expected to open in Reagan National Airport's Terminal B in late August followed in September with a 2360 square foot unit in the new Belmont Chase project at Claiborne Pkwy and Russell Branch Pkwy in Ashburn, Virginia, also in the Washington metro area. Cava Grill features its build-your-own breakfast bowls, of Greek yogurt, fruit, granola and honey. Cava Grill offers a fresh, vegetable-centric menu prepared in an assembly-line format that allows customers to create their own dishes including salads, greens and grains bowls along with grilled meats and other proteins. In early 2016, the chain is also scheduled to open a unit at 8515 Fenton St., in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. With this addition, the chain will have twelve units operation in Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia. Earlier in the Spring, the company reported that it had raised $16-million in venture funding that will fuel the company's expansion to Los Angeles area with multiple locations as well as growing its line of dips and spreads that are currently sold in Whole Foods stores. Stores in Las Angeles and Canoga Park in California have already been booked.
