Cinquecento, a Roman Trattoria, is located at 500 Harrison Ave. in Boston’s Historic South End. Cinquecento is a contemporary, casual and energetic Roman Trattoria, ideal for a spontaneous night out or for dinner and brunch. “We envisioned a comfortable, inviting restaurant reminiscent of neighborhood trattorias found in Rome,” explained The Aquitaine Group’s founding Chef and Partner Seth Woods. “A place where friends will come several nights a week, no matter where they are coming from or going to. The menu will be steeped in the Roman roots of simplicity, custom and comfort.” Cinquecento has now expanded its patio offering with Boston’s first shipping container bar. The seasonal ‘Rosso Patio Bar at Cinquecento’ is a twelve-seat full service outdoor bar installed on the patio of Cinquecento. The new bar is reportedly the first outdoor bar in the area constructed completely from a recycled shipping container. When the restaurant group decided that they wanted this new outdoor bar created, they found a partner in the process in Brian Quick from Mini Warehousing Inc. in Mansfield, Massachusetts. After the shell was created, Cinquecento finished the design and outfitted the shipping container with lighting, seating and all its other amenities. The design and creation of the Rosso Patio Bar at Cinquecento happened in only 32 days. “It’s our job as restaurateurs to create reasons for people to choose our restaurants. Everything from the food we put on the plate, to the spaces we create all have an emotional response and are all part of the dining experience. With every space we create we start with something that we would want in our neighborhoods. The addition of the Rosso Patio Bar at Cinquecento was created with the mindful intention of being part of this neighborhood and I think it gives people yet another reason to enjoy outdoor dining in the South End,” said Woods.
