Restaurant & QSR Expansion Report

Doubling Florida Footprint…….

Fuddruckers plans to more than double its presence in Florida with regional franchisee Urdaneta, Reyes & Videla.  The franchisee is opening its third restaurant in mid-December at the Market Square in Fort Myers. In addition, the group will develop seven more restaurants in and around the Tampa and Orlando areas.  Fuddruckers currently has two sites in Orlando and five in South Florida, from Fort Lauderdale to Miami. The 6300 square foot Fort Myers location is at 5050 Daniels Pkwy, just off S. Tamiami Trail, and will accommodate 182 diners.  It also includes a patio with seating for more than 40 guests.  According to Peter Tropoli, COO of Luby's Inc., "We have a large and loyal fan base in Florida, and we are thrilled to be growing our presence in the state with franchisee Urdaneta, Reyes & Videla, making it easier than ever for Floridians to get a taste of the World's Greatest Hamburgers.”  Fuddruckers features grilled-to-order burgers, always fresh and never frozen, 100 percent USDA premium-cut beef with no fillers or additives. The sesame-topped buns are baked from scratch on-site throughout the day.   While burgers are the signature, the Fort Meyers menu will offer variety for many tastes with specialty soup and fish options, hand-breaded rings and tenders, plus an array of sandwiches, platters and salads.  The Texas-based chain presently operates about 76 corporately owned restaurants and approximately 110 franchised locations.
