More of a Southern Classic

Chicken Salad Chick is a quick casual concept that was introduced in 2008 that features a unique menu focusing on a ‘southern classic’, chicken salad.  The menu includes about 15 original flavors of the chicken salads along with gourmet soups, side salads and freshly baked desserts. A franchise concept, the chain has just opened its eleventh location and its second in South Carolina in the Lexington Pavilion on Sunset Blvd. in Lexington.  Franchisees Julie Beville and Michelle Singleton of SingBev Hospitality, LLC opened the unit on the heels of their franchise launch in the Augusta Commons in Greenville, South Carolina in August. The unit is the second of 20-plus locations planned for the Carolinas.  A unit on Wentworth St. in downtown Charleston is scheduled to open soon.  Based in Auburn, the franchise chain is in the midst of an aggressive growth period having opened several of the over 50 locations that were under development at the beginning of 2013.  In addition to the growth in the Carolinas, locations are confirmed for Mobile, Alabama in November and a second in Columbus, Georgia in December. In the first quarter if 2014, units are scheduled for Tuscaloosa and Montgomery in Alabama, in Chattanooga in Tennessee, in Marietta in Georgia, Panama City Beach in Florida and in Charleston and Columbia in South Carolina.  The chain targets markets of at least 35,000 people, near schools, hospitals, shopping centers, offices, etc.  End cap and freestanding units of 2200 to 2500 square feet are preferred.  Drive-thru and about 25 feet of frontage is required. The present focus is on the Southeast region.
