In early November, Miami-based GRILLiT, Inc., a quick casual Latin-Caribbean fusion concept, opened its latest franchise location in Elizabethtown in Kentucky. Located on North Mulberry St., the unit is the company's first drive-through and stand alone building concept. Perry Patel, owner of Priya Investments, LLC, who owns the master franchise rights for Kentucky, Ohio, New Jersey, and New Hampshire, intends to develop these markets and is currently evaluating locations in four additional locations within its various territories. The fusion restaurant concept combines fast casual with nutritious and healthy food specializing in chef-inspired custom crafted rice bowls, pasta and wraps as well as salads.
GRILLiT opened its first location in Miami in 2011and currently consists of two corporate and two franchised locations. The chain expects to have at least 21 corporate and 58 franchised locations open and operating within the next five years, targeting Florida, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia for new growth. At least five new locations as planned for the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area by the end of 2016.
