In the Spring, the Latin inspired quick service chain Pollo Campero (972/770-2800 www.pollocampero.com) entered the Rhode Island market with a location in the Eagle Square in Providence. Now, in early October, the chain has turned its attention to the Virginia market, opening a quick service restaurant in the redevelopment of the Marumsco Plaza in Woodbridge. It is the chain’s forth unit in Virginia and ninth in the Washington D.C. market. Founded in Guatemala in 1971, the chain operates more than 400 restaurants in twelve countries worldwide. This includes more than 50 locations in 16 states and in Puerto Rico. The chain has previously announced aggressive plans for further expansion.
