Island-inspired restaurant franchise Hurricane Grill & Wings has signed a new multi-unit development agreement with father and son team, Steve and Chris Girard for Western Maryland. The Girards are presently sourcing their first location in the Hagerstown region. “Hurricane Grill & Wings is growing rapidly, and the Western Maryland market is an area that we’ve long targeted for franchised growth,” said Martin O’Dowd, President of Hurricane Grill & Wings. The Girards are presently multi-unit franchisees of various food concepts in the region. Hurricane Grill & Wings currently has a restaurant in Elkton in Eastern Maryland and another under construction in Laurel in Southern Maryland under different ownership with a projected open date in April. In late February, the chain opened is 41st location in Florida at the Nob Hill Place center on Sunset Strip in Sunrise in South Florida. Known for its jumbo, fresh wings, more than 35 signature sauces and rubs and tropical, laid-back atmosphere, the full service chain has over 85 restaurants open or under construction in 17 states and is in an active national expansion mode.
