Restaurant & QSR Expansion Report

Opportunities in Tri-States, Florida Sold

After operating the chain of sports-themed family restaurants in Virginia, Maryland and West Virginia for about 17 years, in early November, Glory Days Grill announced that it is offering franchise opportunities in the tri-state area, covering parts of greater Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland.

Additional market development opportunities include Harrisonburg, Charlottesville and Salisbury. Just days later, Glory Days Grill reported that it was entering into an agreement with Tampa, Florida-based private restaurant company, MVP Holdings under which MVP will spearhead an expansion of the brand throughout the state of Florida. The initial Florida Glory Days Grill restaurant is slated to open in the first quarter of 2014 at 17508 Dona Michelle Dr. in New Tampa. The freestanding unit is about 6600 square feet.  The agreement will grant MVP the exclusive right to franchise throughout Florida by either opening Glory Days Grill restaurants which they will own and operate, or by servicing future new Glory Days Grill restaurants that will become franchisees of Glory Days Franchising Co.

Presently the Fairfax, Virginia-based chain owns and operates 18 corporate locations in the Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia tri-state area along with two franchised restaurants in Richmond, Virginia and one FANFARE Eatery in Fairfax Corner. Three Glory Days Grill restaurants and a second FANFARE Eatery are scheduled to open in 2014 as well as expanding its franchising efforts. The restaurants are designed to appeal to all age groups featuring its real-time entertainment.  Every restaurant features several televisions tuned to sports, cartoons, news and entertainment with individual speaker stations at each table. The menu includes a variety of options for every age and preference, including sandwiches, salads, grilled steak, chicken and seafood entrees, pasta, barbeque ribs, specialty burgers and its signature chicken wings.

Designed as the neighborhood meeting place, the company targets suburban city center locations. Freestanding pad sites on corners, end caps and high profile in-line locations are considered. The size requires is in a 4500 to 6400 square foot range with a patio area. In large markets, minimum populations of 80,000 within five miles are required and at least 30,000 people within a 15-minute drive is necessary in smaller markets. Dan Zajac is the Franchise Manager.
