Shack Re-opens Flagship…..

In mid-May, Shake Shack celebrated the reopening of the original Madison Square Park flagship restaurant in New York. The new Shake Shack offers the same look and feel guests around the world have known for ten years. “When Shake Shack renewed our lease with the City of New York, we committed to a complete renovation to restore the original Shack and prepare for the decade to come. After more than seven months of complete renovation, we couldn’t be more excited to reopen and continue to serve as a community gathering place for New Yorkers and visitors alike,” said Shake Shack CEO, Randy Garutti. “We look forward to the season ahead.”  Publicly traded, Shake Shack is a modern day ‘roadside’ burger stand known for its 100 percent all-natural, antibiotic-free Angus beef burgers, hot dogs, frozen custard, crinkle cut fries, etc.  Beer and wine are available at select locations. Since the original Shack opened in 2004 in Madison Square Park, the company has opened multiple locations in New York, New Jersey, Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, Connecticut, Georgia, Texas, Illinois, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Florida, Massachusetts, Virginia, and international locations including in London, Istanbul, Dubai, Moscow, etc. Earlier in May, the company reported a 59.2 percent sales increase to $36-million for its first quarter that ended on April 1st, 2015. Same-unit-sales was also up by 11.7 percent.  For its fiscal year that ends in late December, Shack Shack anticipates opening at least ten new domestic company-operated Shacks and at least five international licensed Shacks will be opened under the company's current license agreements in the U.K. and Middle East. The company also expects total revenues to be between $161-million and $165-million with same-unit-sales growth in the low to mid single digits.
