The Dallas-based Pie Five Pizza fast casual pizza chain has just announced a 28-unit development agreement in South Florida and is including the Tampa market with the same group. “We felt like Tampa was a natural expansion of the brand in the Florida market,” said Jeffrey Parker, Franchise Development Partner with DP5 Investments. The group is looking for initial sites in Temple Terrace, New Tampa along with Clearwater and St. Petersburg. As a former second generation McDonald’s franchisee, Parker and his partners with DP5 Investments bring substantial multi-unit restaurant operations experience to the table. This latest development deal follows recently announced multi-unit deals in New Mexico, Missouri, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Colorado, Kentucky, and Indiana. This is in addition to company-owned expansion in Minneapolis, Phoenix, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth. Pie Five has grown from one location to 73 in less than four years. A subsidiary of RAVE Restaurant Group Inc., Pie Five offers the guests almost unlimited combinations of farm fresh ingredients, artisan sauces and handcrafted crust variety. Pies bake in just 140 seconds in a custom-designed, state-of-the-art oven. In addition, there are freshly-tossed hand-made salads served in a baked pizza dough bowl and a home-baked brownie or cookie pie to go with the meal.
