Last August, Daniel DeMiglio announced plans to open a new Callahan’s restaurant in Norwood, New Jersey. DeMiglio is the grandson of Artie Castrianni who started selling hot dogs, hamburgers and fries in Fort Lee in the early 1950’s. The restaurants, there were two, in Fort Lee and Little Ferry, were closed about eight years ago and a few years ago, DeMiglio re-launched Callahan’s in the form of a seasonal food truck operating in New Jersey’s Bergen County. Then, in late April 2015, a 1400 square foot street front Callahan’s restaurant opened at 10 Broad St. In addition to its foot long hot dogs, the menu includes hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fries, etc. Later in the Spring, the Callahan’s food truck will be back on the road joined by a second truck.
