In a recent survey by global customer experience firm, Market Force Information, Texas-based Jason’s Deli was chosen the favorite sandwich chain over several of the larger chains in the quick service and quick casual category. The survey was conducted among more than 12,700 customers covering four regions in the United States. Jason’s Deli is a 39-year old family-owned chain of restaurants that emphasizes fresh, natural and premium ingredients on its menu. The chain currently includes over 240 restaurants in 28 states that feature a selection of deli-style sandwiches yet catering to health food trends with organic, vegan and vegetarian offerings. Jason’s Deli is reported to be the first major restaurant concept in the United States to ban trans fats and also the first to eliminate high fructose corn syrup. The chain is continuing to grow and is expanding into several new markets. In December, the first Jason’s Deli in Wisconsin opened in a shared freestanding unit at the West Towne Mall in Madison and in January, it was reported that Jason’s Deli will be opening in the expansion of the Brookfield Square in Brookfield, Wisconsin. The restaurant will have outside access. The first phase of the mall expansion is scheduled for a late 2015 opening. Also, late in the year, the chain opened a 5000 square foot location in the Washington Crossing Shopping Center in Augusta, Georgia, its first in that market. Early in January, the company celebrated an opening in Kirkwood, Missouri and later in the Spring, it will enter the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania market with a 5000 square foot unit at the Cranberry Mall. The former King’s Family Restaurant location will also include a 900 square foot patio and drive thru.
