The six year old YoFresh Yogurt Café chain of self-serve frozen yogurt franchises is planning to have over 70 locations throughout the United States by 2018.  Presently the Boston-based chain has more than 30 locations open or under development in ten states. Locations are scheduled to open shortly in Alabama and Ohio as well as in Pittsburgh and Hellertown in Pennsylvania and in Pelion in South Carolina. The YoFresh menu offer a choice of all natural nonfat frozen yogurts, topping options that include fresh fruit, granola and nuts along with smoothies. To encourage this growth, the company has implemented a number of new franchising strategies in order to benefit both existing and prospective franchisees alike. “We’ve redoubled our efforts to build a system of dedicated franchisees,” said Founder and CEO Chris Gregoris. “A franchise is only as strong as its weakest franchisee, so we’re committed to growing and sustaining a system that will ensure franchisees receive the support they need to build the best business possible.”  The company is sourcing individual franchises as well as multi-unit development deals and the units can operate in in-line retail or kiosk formats. The typical in-line unit operates in 800 to 1800 square feet while a kiosk will operate in 250 to 500 square feet.
