Restaurant & QSR Expansion Report

Plans Future So. FL Growth

New England seafood restaurant Chowder Heads is in the final construction stages of its second restaurant that is expected to open later in July.  The full service 3680 square foot restaurant is at the Palm Beach Marketplace on Okeechobee Blvd. in West Palm Beach, Florida. Ed Wells opened the first full service Chowder Heads in the Driftwood Plaza in Jupiter, Florida in 2012 and is now exploring expansion opportunities anticipating expansion across South Florida in the coming years.  “We plan to open in Naples/Marco Island, Fort Meyers around the Boston Ball Park, in Tampa and Orlando and The Villages in NW Florida,” said Wells. Chowder Heads features a large menu of lobster, scallops, haddock, clams, signature New England rolls, chowders and bisques, etc. Fresh New England seafood will be flown in several times a week. For its expansion, the company is targeting areas with a high concentration of New Englanders, people with family in New England or visit New England each year. A patio is important and the units are designed to recreate the downtown of a harbor town in Maine.
