In early august, Las Vegas-based Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop will open its first Virginia restaurant in Rosslyn. The new unit will be the inaugural restaurant for the sandwich franchise in the state and marks the chain’s commitment to expanding its reach across the United States. Franchisee George Vincent Jr., also introduced the Capriotti’s concept in Washington D.C. last year. The quick service restaurant will be located on the lower level of the 1500 Wilson Boulevard building at Wilson and Clarendon in the Rosslyn area of Arlington, Virginia. Established in 1976 and with over 100 locations in 14 states and federal districts, Capriotti’s features handmade subs crafted with fresh ingredients. Each night, the shop slow-roasts whole turkeys in-house and hand-pulls the meat off the bones the next morning for the sub shop’s signature sandwich, The Bobbie. Other choices include the SlawBeJoe made with homemade roast beef, provolone cheese, Russian dressing and cole slaw. Capriotti’s also offers a variety of vegetarian sub options like its Veggie Cheese Steak, made with hot vegetarian chicken and melted provolone cheese on a toasted roll. Capriotti’s is also in development on other East Coast locations in a plaza at 2285 Forest Dr. in Annapolis, the fourth in Maryland and its first in Georgia at the Old Peachtree Commons on Satellite Blvd. in Duluth.
