In late July, Dallas, Texas-based wing restaurant Wingstop opened its first New Jersey location. The plaza location on Elmora Ave. near Penningtton St. in Elizabeth in Union County is operating under the leadership of brand partners Vishal Patel and Kartik Patel of Enjoy Wings LLC. The unit is the first of six planned restaurants in a multi-unit development agreement. Founded in 1994, Wingstop has more than 660 quick casual restaurants operating across the United States, Mexico, Russia, Singapore and the Philippines, with locations coming soon to the United Arab Emirates. The menu features classic and boneless wings in several flavors. Wingstop is owned by affiliates of Atlanta-based private equity firm Roark Capital Group.
