A Place Less Ordinary – Restaurant & QSR Expansion Report

In 2003, Kelvin and Mandy Slater opened their first Blue Moon Pizza in Marietta, Georgia, a full service, upscale restaurant that quickly became a neighborhood destination with faithful customers returning several times a week. The licensed restaurant featured dine-in service, carryout, delivery, curbside pickup, even a take and bake feature. Along with the specialty pizzas, the menu includes creative salads, Flatwiches and a full bar with select craft beers. Today there are four locations in Georgia, all in the greater Atlanta area, and the company’s first out-of-state restaurant has just opened in Fort Myers in Southwest Florida. This latest unit is a 3475 square foot end cap unit on College Pkwy., between South Cleveland Ave. and Summerlin Rd. in the city’s south end. The unit also includes a covered 1300 square foot patio. Director of Operations Brett Hull-Ryde explains that additional locations as planned adding that discussions are currently underway for a second Florida location, in Naples, as well as a unit in the Alpharetta area in North Atlanta.
