Back from the Brink

Bennigan’s is undergoing a strong renaissance after a major restructuring while simultaneously redefining casual dining. Since the end of 2012, the company has opened new franchise locations in Clarksburg, Maryland, in Fort Worth and Houston, Texas, in Saddle Brook in New Jersey, in Tysons Corner in Virigina, in  Panama City in Florida as well as in Veracruz in Mexico, Larnaca in Cyprus and in Dubai. Presently there are over 150 restaurants open or under contract worldwide with several planned for California, Florida, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and internationally. The new Bennigan’s is a high-energy neighborhood restaurant and tavern that features chef-driven food, innovative drinks and warm, friendly Irish hospitality. The newest Bennigan’s opened in late September in the former 59 Diner location at the Price Plaza at 20210 Katy Freeway in Katy, Texas. The freestanding 6700 square foot unit is the second restaurant in the greater Houston area owned by franchisee Mohammad Amin, who also operates the location in Shenandoah, Texas. “We’ve been looking to expand Bennigan’s footprint in the Houston area for some time, and the Katy location seemed perfect,” said Amin. “Our Shenandoah restaurant has proven that the Bennigan’s brand is as popular as ever.”
