In January, Wayback Burgers opened a franchise location in Abercorn Commons at 8108 Abercorn St. in Savannah, its first in Georgia and started construction on a unit at the Shelter Cove Towne Centre in Hilton Head Island, its third location in South Carolina. Wayback Burgers is a ‘better burger’ concept that features a high-quality and high-variety menu, serving fresh, hand-made burgers and hand-dipped milkshakes amidst an atmosphere that hearkens back to a simpler place and time. The Connecticut-based fast casual franchise was introduced in 1991 in Newark, Delaware and presently operates more than 80 restaurants in 24 states with over 20 more under development in 22 states. With its plans to open in 28 countries through the Middle East and Northern Africa, in addition to expansion plans in Argentina, Canada, Mexico and Pakistan, Wayback Burgers has plans to surpass 250 units sold in 2015.
