Restaurant & QSR Expansion Report

Name Change & Aggressive Growth…..

Late in 2014, ten year old breakfast and lunch concept Toast Cafe reported that it was planning to change its name to Famous Toastery. Along with the name change, CEO Robert Maynard added that the Charlotte, North Carolina-based chain expects to be at 15 locations by the end of 2015.  New franchise locations are already confirmed for Mooresville expected to open in March and the University Area of Charlotte by mid-year. The company is concentrating on initial growth in the South Carolina, Florida, Connecticut and Pennsylvania markets. Through his representative, Maynard has also confirmed that all of Florida is a target market for growth.  The company is initially going to Jacksonville and St. Augustine and definitely three more locations.  Fort Myers, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando, Daytona, Tampa and St. Petersburg have also been identified for expansion attention.  The site selection is a joint effort between the franchisor and franchisee.  The size necessary for the Famous Toastery restaurant is in the 3000 square foot range. Famous Toastery is a premium breakfast and lunch concept with restaurants in Cary, Davidson, Dilworth and Ballantyne in North Carolina and in Tega Cay in South Carolina. A five-unit franchise agreement has also been signed recently for the Charlotte area.
