Over 70 years ago, Harold ‘Groucho’ Miller, armed with some original recipes for potato salad, coleslaw along with salad and sandwich dressings, open the first Groucho’s Deli in Columbia, South Carolina.  Today the chain of casual restaurants feature a menu of gourmet subs and sandwiches, salads as well as that original potato salad and coleslaw. In 2001, the company introduced its franchise program.  Currently there are 25 restaurants operating in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia and the chain continues to source franchisees in the Southeast region on the U.S. Two units are presently under development and expected to open shortly.  One is a former Lighthouse Pizza plaza location on Sea Island Pkwy. In Beaufort in South Carolina near the Beaufort High School and the other is a 1900 square foot unit in the former post office building, near the N.C. State University.
