After experiencing growth of about 60 percent in 2013, Taziki’s Mediterranean Café anticipates continued aggressive growth in 2014. The quick casual Greek food chain is planning to open at least 20 new restaurants in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia, expanding its footprint to twelve states. “Our company saw enormous growth last year,” said, Managing Partner, CEO Jim Keet. “We started franchising, which has provided Taziki’s the opportunity to build a larger presence throughout the United States.” The chain’s most recent addition was a 3400 square foot location that opened at the new Shopppes at Fountain Plaza on SE Walton Blvd. in Bentonville in Arkansas in late December. With a patio, a drive-thru window and seating for 130, it is the chain’s largest unit to date. Taziki’s Mediterranean Café is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama and currently has 32 locations in nine states. Its menu is made fresh and inspired by Mediterranean cuisine featuring freshly grilled chicken, beef, lamb, herb-roasted pork, shrimp, tilapia, salmon along with original sauces and healthy side dishes. Taziki’s is open for lunch and dinner, offers take-out as well as catering. Location requirements are flexible with Founder and Chief Development Officer Keith Richards considering in-line units, end caps, freestanding locations as well as conversions.
