In the Spring, breakfast, brunch and lunch First Watch Restaurants Inc. will open in a 3950 square foot restaurant in the Publix Super Markets-anchored Sea Watch Center on N. Ocean Dr. in Sea Ranch Lakes and a 3000 square foot end cap location in the Deerfield Mall on W. Hillsboro Blvd. in Deerfield Beach. Both of the Southeast Florida restaurants will include patio areas for outdoor dining. Then, later in the Summer, the daytime restaurant will open a 3500 square foot restaurant at the Cocoplum Village on Tamiami Trail in North Port in West Central Florida. The new restaurant will be located within a freestanding outparcel building and will also include a patio area. Currently the Bradenton, Florida-based franchise chain counts 42 First Watch restaurants in Florida and over 115 in 16 states. In early January, the company reported that it has signed a multi-unit franchise agreement with Raleigh, North Carolina-based VIM Holdings that will see it enter the state with five locations in the Raleigh-Durham over the next five years. The first unit is expected to open late in 2014 in the greater Raleigh market. Earlier this month, the company also announced the acquisition of The Good Egg, an Arizona-based restaurant company with about 20 restaurants in the Phoenix and Southern Arizona market. The company presently operates three First Watch restaurants in the Phoenix market.
