In late March, LM Restaurants reported that it will be opening a Carolina Ale House restaurant on the former Chrysler & Plymouth dealership site on Franklin St. between McDade and Kenan streets in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The company is just starting on drawings on the redevelopment for the 8600 square foot restaurant which it expects to open within the next twelve months. Carolina Ale House is a family-friendly sports-themed restaurant with an extensive menu that goes beyond the typical sports bar fare. Presently there are over 20 of the Carolina Ale House restaurants operating in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Texas. Late in 2013, Lou Moshakos, President and Owner of LM Restaurants, stated that the company’s goal is to have 50 Carolina Ale House units opened in the next four years with a focus on the North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida and Texas markets. Typically the chain targets freestanding locations with a footprint of about 8500 square, however, Corporate Communications Manager Mindy Stroupe note that the company can be flexible. Outdoor seating in incorporated wherever possible. LM Restaurants is the management company affiliated with about 13 Carolina Ale House locations. The other locations are managed by licensees.
