In mid-June The Restaurant People, a Fort Lauderdale-based restaurant group, will open a new restaurant concept on Las Olas Blvd. in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The 4000 square foot Fork & Balls is located just west of NE 15th Ave. and will feature a meatball menu made with beef, chicken, lamb, fish, vegetable, etc. The 160-seat street front restaurant will also have over 20 wines on a draft system. Hiring is currently underway. The Restaurant People also operate Vibe Las Olas, YOLO restaurant, O Lounge, the two Tarpon Bend restaurants and the S3, Sun, Surf & Sand restaurant that opened last year across from the beach and in the lower level of the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort on N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd. Tim Petrillo, President and Co-founder of The Restaurant People added that construction is also underway on a rooftop lounge on the top of the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort which is expected to be opened by Fall.
