In early February, New Orleans-style barbeque chain VooDoo BBQ & Grill will open its fourth restaurant in South Florida. Franchisee Florida Restaurant Franchise Group LLC is opening a 3500 square foot end cap unit in the Target-anchored Hollywood Hills Plaza in Hollywood. The unit fronts onto Hollywood Blvd., just west of I-95. The other restaurants in South Florida are located in Pembroke Pines, Kendall and Fort Lauderdale with another four unit openings planned for later this year. Florida Restaurant Franchise Group holds the rights in South Florida and plans to open a total of 26 locations in Florida over the next four years. "Growth has been incredible for our brand in South Florida and Hollywood is a great location for our newest VooDoo BBQ & Grill," said Joe Sloboda, President of Florida Restaurant Franchise Group. VooDoo BBQ & Grill combines favorite American BBQ styles with Caribbean, Cajun and Creole spices to create a New Orleans-style BBQ menu along with unique side dishes, plus salads and sandwiches, in the quick -casual environment. Since opening the first location on Mardi Gras day in 2002 in New Orleans, the franchise chain has grown to over 55 units currently operating and planned for Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Maryland and Washington D.C.
