Carrying Momentum into 2014

With a goal to double its footprint in the United States over the next three years, Dallas-based Corner Bakery Café signed twelve new area development agreements in 2013. This represents commitments for more than 120 new cafes and raises the total to more than 300 cafes under development. This planned development in the East Coast region includes 16 new cafes in the greater New York City area, 21 in Boston, 14 in Tampa, 10 in Northeast Florida, 21 in Baltimore and 10 in Westchester and Suffolk counties in New York. Corner Bakery Cafe also opened three new locations inside the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to launch a campaign targeting non-traditional venues as part of its overall national expansion strategy.“Based on the exceptional success we are experiencing with both existing and new restaurants, we are convinced that now is the time to be even more aggressive in our efforts to take Corner Bakery Cafe into new markets,” said Vice President, Franchise Sales Gregg Koffler. “We plan to continue to capitalize on this momentum and have set our sights to continue our franchise development success in 2014.” The chain is continuing to source experienced franchise operators with the ability to open multiple locations to drive development targeting new markets in Alabama, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina and Tennessee. Corner Bakery Cafe is a fast-casual chain of over 160 company-owned and franchised restaurants in 17 states and Washington DC.  Serving a breakfast, lunch and dinner clientele, the made-to-order menu features hot breakfast scramblers, signature Panini and sandwiches, homemade soups, hand-tossed salads, pastas, etc. Established in 1991, Corner Bakery Cafe was acquired in 2011 by Atlanta-based private equity firm Roark Capital Group.
