Quick service Mexican menu chain Del Taco has announced commitments for 28 new locations to open throughout the Southeast. This latest expansion is part of the company’s larger strategy to take its fresh, made-to-order Mexican and American food across the country. Along with recently-opened restaurants in Columbus and Smyrna in Georgia, Del Taco will soon open its sixth Atlanta-area location in Marietta, Georgia, along with a franchise owned restaurant, in Columbia in South Carolina. “Strong sales at our Southeast restaurants demonstrate the enthusiasm and passion local residents have for Del Taco,” said Director of Franchise Development Laura Tanaka. The chain has several exclusive development territories available for franchisees. Leading the company’s Southeast expansion is franchisee Clay Gullatt, who has an agreement to open three locations. Gullatt’s first Del Taco, located in Columbus, Georgia, opened in August. Del Taco has 549 restaurants in 17 states. The company offers various development incentive packages to new Del Taco franchisees.
