According to various reports, Greensboro, North Carolina-based Cook Out Restaurants has acquired the Zesto on Ponce de Leon restaurant in Atlanta that closed in late September. According to permits filed with the city, the unit’s unique exterior will remain the same as the company converts it to a Cook Out location. According to reports in the Atlanta’s Tomorrow’s News Today, another Cook Out restaurant is planned for Northside Dr., near Georgia Tech. The Cook Out chain of quick service restaurants has also just opened a 1600 square foot unit with double drive-thru and a walk-up customer window at the Two Rivers Center on North Second St. in Clarksville, Tennessee. The privately owned chain operates drive-through restaurants in more than 70 cities in Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Most are double drive-thrus and outdoor seating. The restaurants feature a large menu of grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, chicken sandwiches, barbecue and milkshakes.
