Seafood chain Captain D’s has signed two new multi-unit franchise agreements that will add units in Atlanta, Georgia and Tallahassee, Florida.  Mike Munshi, a Dairy Queen franchisee with seven locations in Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama, will build three Captain D’s restaurants in the Atlanta market, focusing his attention on the McDonough, Jackson and Peachtree City areas. David and Jamie Yates also agreed to a multi-unit deal in which they will open two Captain D’s restaurants in Tallahassee over the next three years and earlier in the year, Michael Knobelock, a Church’s Chicken franchisee, agreed to purchase two corporate-owned Captain D’s locations in Mississippi and build new locations in Houston, Texas.“We have had a renewed focus on franchise growth and set our sights on high profile franchisees who are interested in building successful restaurants,” said CEO Phil Greifeld.  In addition to adding new franchisees, existing Captain D’s franchisees are adding to their portfolios. Dallas Hunt, a franchisee with five Captain D’s locations, will add a second Captain D’s in Albany, Georgia.  Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Captain D’s owns, operates and franchises about 520 restaurants in 25 states, plus military bases around the world. The quick casual Captain D’s restaurants serve a widely varied seafood menu that includes freshly prepared entrees, and the company’s signature hand-battered fish which is prepared to order. The restaurants also offer premium-quality, grilled fish, as well as shrimp, chicken, shrimp & beef kabobs, hushpuppies, desserts and freshly brewed, southern-style sweet tea.
