Restaurant & QSR Expansion Report

Second in the East Coast, then Hawaii

On May 12th, the second Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot restaurant in the East Coast region opened in the recently renovated Festival Plaza on Route 27 in Edison in New Jersey’s Middlesex County. The fondue-style restaurant offers dining room seating for up to 200 guests, private VIP rooms and a beverage bar, which includes a wide selection of Asian inspired teas and fresh juices. The family-friendly concept features do-it-yourself-dining where guests can build their own entrées, starting with Little Sheep's soup base, which is made from scratch and features up to 36 different herbs and spices and comes in varying degrees of spiciness. They then place their choice of delicately sliced marbled meats, fresh veggies and fresh noodles into the pot and cook to their liking. Favorites include the supreme lamb shoulder, house shrimp balls, baby bok choy and fresh thick noodles. A traditional Inner Mongolian dining style, hot pot is the centerpiece of the Little Sheep dining experience.  Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot opened its first restaurant in 1999 in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, China. Today it includes over 300 locations in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Canada, and the United States. The Edison location is the chain’s 15th location in the United States and the next restaurant opens on May 16th at Honolulu’s Ward Center in Hawaii.
