Restaurant & QSR Expansion Report

The Deal is Off

In the Summer, it was reported that The Fireplace restaurant on Beacon St. in Brookline, Massachusetts would be closing and New Haven, Connecticut-based Pepe’s Pizzeria would be locating in the space.  Earlier in September, The Fireplace owner Jim Solomon has reported that The Fireplace restaurant will remain open and the agreement with Pepe’s is off. In a report in the Boston Globe, Solomon noted that Pepe’s Pizzeria is still planning to open in the Boston market and is continuing to source suitable sites for multiple locations. Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana was introduced in 1925 on Wooster St. in New Haven, Connecticut. Then as now, the restaurant features pizzas made in the coal fired brick ovens at 650 degrees. Today there are eight restaurants in Connecticut and Yonkers in New York City.
