Restaurant & QSR Expansion Report

Veterans Bring New Concepts…….

In March, restaurant veterans Brian and Monique Murray will be opening a café-style restaurant with a breakfast, lunch and early dinner menu named DIG, or Dig in Gulf, at The Market Shops, an open multi-building specialty center at the entrance to the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in Miramar Beach in northwest Florida that has just undergone a major renovation.  The DIG café is about 3100 square feet and includes outside seating in the project’s Fountain Courtyard area. In addition, Jennifer Gizzi, founder of the Formula Fresh Juicery cold-pressed juice company, will open a 750 square foot Formula Fresh Coffee & Juicery, also in March.  Along with the cold-presses juices, the new concept will feature fine coffees, smoothies, teas, etc. and it too has outside seating.  The Market Shops at Sandestin is an open retail, restaurant and entertainment project that serves an affluent demographics with average incomes near the $100,000 per year range.  Along with its primary residents, the market area attracts about four million visitors yearly while the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort itself attracts 1.7 million annual visitors.  Ian Schenkman, Vice President of landlord OBP Partners, notes that one restaurant unit remains available for lease in the project.  The space is a 1200 square foot end cap location with about 60 feet of frontage onto Emerald Coast Pkwy/US Hwy 98 and its 45,000 vehicle per day traffic.  The suggested uses include frozen yogurt or ice cream. Miramar Beach-based JPB Commercial Real Estate Advisors is handling the leasing. The Market Shops is on the southwest quadrant of the intersection of US Hwy 98 and Sandestin Blvd. near the Beaches of South Walton and at the entrance to the Sandestin Resort.
