In mid-February, Melt Shop opened its latest grilled cheese restaurant at 1901 L. St. NW in Washington D.C. according to reports in the Washingtonian magazine. It is the chain’s seventh location and first outside of New York. With the exception of the recently opened unit at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, the locations tend to be street front units that offer a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu of ‘comfort foods’, largely based on variations of the grilled cheese sandwiches including a grilled chicken, a burger melt, maple bacon, etc., along with salads, sides and shakes. The D.C. location is also including beer on the menu.
