Introduced in Delray Beach in Florida in 2009, The Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Co currently operates over 20 locations with the majority being in Florida. The company has recently reported that it will be opening its next location in the former Red Elephant Café location at Dale Mabry Hwy and Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal. The 3000 square foot end cap unit is expected to open by the end of the year and will also include a patio. It is the chain’s first location in Tampa. COO Mike Welch was quoted as saying that the chain is planning additional expansion in Florida with up to four more locations in the Tampa Bay area.
